H. Jeanne McClelland, 83, of Niles and formerly of Warren, died 6:45 AM Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Select Specialty Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. She was born February 16, 1922 in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Robert and Ida Martin Anderson, and spent most of her life in Warren.

Jeanne graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and attended Kent State University. During the 1940s, she worked in the engineering department at American Welding. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, a board member and long-time volunteer at the Warren YWCA, and a ten-year volunteer driver for Mobile Meals. She also patterned for brain-damaged children for several years. Jeanne enjoyed traveling, reading, and solving crossword and variety puzzles.

She married James P. McClelland in 1947. Following Jim's death in 1999, she moved to the Manor at Autumn Hills, an assisted living facility in Niles.

Jeanne is survived by a son, James T. (Linda) McClelland of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Linda M. (Laurence) Matola of Orion, Mich.; grandchildren David, Katherine, and Rebecca McClelland, and Bradley and Craig Matola; and a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Glass of Warren.

Services for Jeanne will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 3, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. David R. Black of Calvary Presbyterian Church officiating. Entombment at Crown Hill Burial Park will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday. Material contributions may be made either to the Warren Family Mission, 361 Elm Rd. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483, or to Calvary Presbyterian Church, 119 Laird Ave. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483.
