Gladys R. Everett

Gladys R. Everett, 87, of Warren, died Sunday, January 27, 2008 from complications of a stroke at The Woodlands at Robinson in Ravenna. She was born August 16, 1920 in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of William and Jane (Dunbar) Robertson, and had been a resident of Warren since 1949.

Mrs. Everett graduated from high school in Wilkinsburg, PA. She also attended Kent State University in Kent, OH. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the WAVES. She was employed as a Teacher's Assistant for the Warren Public Schools and was a member of the Kilt & Claymore Scottish Heritage Association, and the Warren Community Choir in addition to being a longtime active member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Everett was married to Edwin A. Everett August 25, 1945 with whom she spent many years traveling the world before his passing on April 6, 2002.

Surviving are her children: Janice (John) Evanovich of Ravenna, OH, Randall (Monika) Everett of Australia, and Nancy (John) Thomas of Kent, OH; her grandchildren: Julia and Michael Evanovich, Ursula and Riley Everett, Alexander, Samuel, Rebecca and Elizabeth Thomas; and a brother Raymond Stern. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Everett and a brother Irvine Robertson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m Thursday January 31, 2008 at First Church of the Nazarene, 4179 Parkman Rd. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. Lynn Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Park in Champion, OH. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Material contributions may be made to the Robinson Visiting Nurses & Hospice 6847 N Chestnut St, Ravenna, OH 44266.
