Geraldine Love Allred Johnson, age 88, formerly of Bristolville, died Monday, May 3, 2004, at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.

She was born October 1, 1915 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late William A. and Bessie Allred.

Mrs. Johnson received the BS and the MS in Education from Ohio Northern University and Kent State University. She taught third and fourth grade in North Bloomfield, at Garfield Elementary School in Warren, and at Alta Vista Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida. She had been a member of the American Association of University Women, the Ohio Education Association, and Omicron Delta Kappa (education sorority). She loved to travel, especially to India and China, and had been around the world three times.

Surviving Mrs. Johnson are her son, James (Carol) Johnson of Madison, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Jennifer, David, Donald, Mary, Cristi Sue, Carrie, and Rick; and a great-grandchild, Chase.

Preceding Mrs. Johnson in death are her parents; her husband, Donald J. Johnson, whom she married in 1937 and who died in 1982; and two sons, Robert Johnson and Dale Johnson.

Services for Mrs. Johnson will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. James F. Baer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home an hour before the service. Interment will take place at the Palms Memorial Park, Sarasota, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 73 Scioto St., P.O. Box 59, Lucasville, Ohio 45648, or to the charity of your choice.
