Geraldine S. Franklin

Geraldine S. Franklin of Mercer passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 7:30 a.m. in her residence. She was 67 years old.

Geraldine was born in Grove City on December 29, 1953, the daughter of the late Howard and Lela Ruth Riggs Poling.

She was a graduate of Mercer School System. Mrs. Franklin was employed at Treasure Island, where she worked at the service desk for many years. Later in life she was employed in the stock department of Wal-Mart.

Mrs. Franklin was an active member of Cedar Avenue Bible Church, where she was involved in the Women’s Ministry Program. She enjoyed her trips to various car shows throughout the valley with her loving husband. She cherished the memories she made with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, George Franklin, whom she married July 19, 1981. George felt that Geraldine was an angel sent from God; a son, Doug (Ashley) Poling of West Middlesex; 2 daughters, Nikki (John) DeJoser of Phoenix, AZ and Pamela (Dallas) Johnson of Mineral Ridge; a sister, Sandy (Dave) Bakondy; 3 brothers, Dave (Pearl) Poling, Ed (Cathy) Poling, and John (Patty) Poling; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by 2 brothers Ricky and Bob Poling; a sister Judy Davidow

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Cedar Avenue Bible Church 664 Cedar Ave. Sharon, PA 16146. Calling hour will be one hour prior to the service in the church.
