George A. Wood

George A. Wood, Jr., of Hartford and formerly of Warren, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was the son of George A. and Lillian (Korb) Wood, Sr., and had lived in Trumbull County all his life.

Mr. Wood had worked in his family's business and in advertising sales. A former member of First Presbyterian Church and the West Warren Lions Club, he was a current member of Unity Church Centre in Girard. He enjoyed music, reading, and his trips to Chautauqua, N.Y. each summer.

Surviving are four cousins: Charles (Layes) Wood of Hartford, Barbara Adgate of Fowler, John (Judy) Wood of Howland, and Jim (Tillie) Wood of St. Petersburg, Fla. Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister, Margaret Manson.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard A. Schumacher of Unity Church Centre officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren. Friends may call 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
