George R. Tracy

George Rodney Tracy, 87, of Warren, died 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at St. Joseph's Health Center. He was born Thursday, November 1, 1917, in Tamaqua, Pa., the son of the late Harold R. and Marjorie Wiseman Tracy, and had lived in the Warren area since the 1940s.

Mr. Tracy had worked as an industrial supervisor for both Halsey Taylor and U.S. Gypsum. He had been a Mason in Orangeville, Ill. and a member of the Oddfellows in Tamaqua, Pa. He enjoyed watching, playing, umpiring, and coaching baseball.

Mr. Tracy is survived by his wife, Dorothy Connell Tracy, whom he married December 6, 1969; four children: Gwendolyn R. (Jeff) Heilman of Midlothian, Ill., Gregory R. Tracy of Huntley, Ill., Geoffrey R. (Pam) Tracy of Monaca, Pa., and Gerry R. (Helene) Tracy of Howland; four step-children:Douglas M. (Claudia) Dalrymple of Cortland, Steven J. (Elizabeth) Dalrymple of Howland, Mary M. (Martin) Patrick of Hubbard, and Charles J. (Debbie) Dalrymple of Williamsburg, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mr. Tracy in death are his parents; his first wife, Ruth Tracy; a son, George R. Tracy III; three sisters; and a brother.
