George W. Knappenberger

George W. Knappenberger, 82, of Warren, died at home Saturday, January 14, 2006. He was born June 22, 1923 in Warren, the son of Chester Knappenberger and Jenny (Lehr) Knappenberger.

Mr. Knappenberger served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Packard Electric in 1998, where he worked as a maintenance machinist.

Surviving are three children: David (Joy) Knappenberger and Gretchen (Rod) Zickefoose of Warren, and Paula (Greg) Randolph of Westerville, Ohio; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents and his wife, Marion Harter Knappenberger, whom he married September 20, 1944 and who died January 27, 2000.

Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call 9:30 to 10:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
