Gene L. Shaw

Gene L. Shaw, 60, of Warren, died Friday, April 24, 2009 at his residence after a long illness. He was born Saturday, August 21, 1948 in Youngstown, the son of the late Clyde and Ella (Beck) Shaw.

He worked as a machinist in Sarasota, Fla. and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed owning and collecting Ford Mustangs.

Surviving are his daughter, Leslie (Greg) Davies of Warren and grandson, Michael Davies; two sisters, Louise Heauener of Diamond, Ruth Sponagle of Lakeland, Fla.; and his former wife, Patty Shaw of Warren, with whom he made his home. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Shaw.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday April 29, 2009 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Ave, Warren, OH 44481, with Military Honors to follow. Friends may call one hour prior to the start of the service at the funeral home.
