Gary J. Sawyer

Gary J. Sawyer of Niles, passed away on December 24, 2015 in the emergency room of St. Joseph's Hospital after a long battle with numerous health problems. He was 47.
Mr. Sawyer was born in Warren on December 5, 1968, the son of Alfred J. and Mary J. Frisch Sawyer.
He was a 1987 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Following high school, Gary continued his education at ITT Technical College, where he received an Associate Degree in drafting and design.
Gary was employed at Goldstar Trucking where he was a truck driver and dispatcher for many years.
He was of Lutheran Faith. Gary was talented in various facets of art, whether it was drawing or creating various furniture pieces or collectables through woodworking. He loved horses, working on cars, and loved playing the drums. Earlier in life he was a Boy Scout under the leadership of his father, who was a scout master for a local area troop. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Sawyer is survived by, His wife, Rebecca Jo Balside Sawyer, whom he married September 9, 2000; parents, Alfred and Mary Sawyer of Niles; a daughter, Brittani Balside of Warren; a son, Noah Sawyer of Niles; a brother, Craig J. Sawyer of Niles.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
