G. Bert Crawford

G. Bert Crawford, 82, of Howland, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born July 5, 1929 in Warren, the son of Jay and Georgette (Wulffing) Crawford, and had lived in Trumbull County all his life.

Bert served two years in the Merchant Marines, then worked for twenty-two years at Republic Steel. After retiring, he was employed by the Southington School system for several years as a school bus driver. He enjoyed motorcycling, traveling, and sailing.

Surviving are five children: David (Lynne) Crawford, Michelle (Robert) Ronyak, and Velda Bachmann, all of Champion, Dianne (Philip) Sellars of North Jackson, and Janine Crawford of Newton Falls; seven grandchildren: Brian, Sonia, Jason, Clarice, Greg, April, and Jessie; and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his beloved son, Gregory; his parents; his wife, Donna Crawford; three brothers: Elmo, Gerald, and Jarah; and two sisters: Beverly Weita and Sarah Tobin.

Services are private. According to his wishes, cremation will take place, and his urn will be laid to rest in Howland Township Cemetery.
