Freda J. Toth, 82, of Champion, died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. She was born July 8, 1927 in Johnston, the daughter of Emil and Jeannette (McCollum) Jaster, and had lived in Trumbull County all her life.
A 1948 graduate of Johnston High School, Mrs. Toth had worked at Warren Sanitary Dairy before working as a harness braider and press operator for Packard Electric, from where she retired in 1980. A member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, she also belonged to the Ladies Police Auxiliary of Champion. She enjoyed her citizens band radio, and was known by the handle "Golden Flasher."
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Marie (Mark) Wolf of Niles and Karen Jean (Bob) Beckman of Champion; a son, Ronald Toth of Chillicothe; five grandchildren; a sister, Betty Wells of Williamsfield; and three brothers: Marvin Jaster of Morrow, Ohio, and Gordon and Dale Jaster, both of Johnston. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Robert J. Toth, whom she married November 19, 1949 and who died February 27, 2001; a grandson; and a sister, Dorothy Wolcott.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1401 Moncrest N.W., Warren, Ohio 44485, with Fr. William Loveless officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Champion. Friends may call 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home in Warren.
