Fred G. Carter, 93, formerly of Warren, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Fla. He was born March 3, 1919 in Warren, the son of Fred G. and Elsie (Herbert) Carter, Sr., and had lived in Warren most of his life.
A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Mr. Carter retired as a machinist from Alcan Aluminum. A proud member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years, he enjoyed lively conversations on sports and politics.
Surviving is his daughter, Dr. Deborah Carter of Longwood, Fla. Preceding him in death is his wife, Linnie Belle (Woodrum) Carter, whom he married May 10, 1947 and who died July 17, 1986.
Services are 12:00 noon Friday, March 30, 2012 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Friday at the funeral home.
