Franklin J. Woodside

Franklin J. Woodside, 65, of Warren, died 7:05 PM Monday, September 25, 2006 at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born June 11, 1941 in Pennsylvania, the son of Franklin Earl and Betty (Kyler) Woodside, and had lived in Trumbull County for over 30 years.

Mr. Woodside was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland and served in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a mechanic for Ohio Lamp, retiring in 1993 after 25 years. He belonged to the Warren Moose Lodge and the pool league at Central Cafe. He enjoyed horse races, NASCAR, football, baseball, pool, and hunting.

Surviving are his mother of Altoona, Pa.; his wife, Nancy Streitferdt Woodside, whom he married May 20, 1986; two daughters, Connie Woodside of Cleveland and Tammy Woodside; three step-daughters: Carol (Russell) Swegan of Niles, Debra Bradley of Warren, and Patty (Paul) Fisher of Warren; two step-sons: Michael Nye and Devin Harris, both of Warren; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene (Chuck) of Lordstown and Betty of Tennessee; two brothers: Terry (Debbie) Boyles of Brookfield and Bill Woodside of Altoona, Pa.; and his mother-in-law, Maybelle Streitferdt of Warren. His father precedes him in death.

Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 29, 2006 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Byron Powers of Leavittsburg Church of God officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday and 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
