Frances L. Van Cure, 70, of Champion, died Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born Tuesday, December 26, 1933 in Warren, the daughter of the late Peter J. and Victoria Sartorio Camarata.
Mrs. Van Cure had been co-owner of Books Galore in Champion, and also a reporter for Champion news for the Tribune Chronicle. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, crossword puzzles, and gardening. She belonged to First United Methodist Church of Warren.
Surviving Frances are four children: Thomas D. Van Cure, Jr. of Clearwater, Florida, Saundra L. Van Cure, Paula J. Van Cure, and Christopher A. Van Cure, all of Champion; five grandchildren: Brad Thomas of Pittsburgh, Douglas Thomas, Cari Thomas, Scott Van Cure and Monica Van Cure, all of Champion; a great-grandchild, Alexander Carino of Champion; two brothers: Peter J. Camarata, Jr. of Howland and Andre Camarata of Ashtabula; two sisters: Marjorie Camarata and Catherine Camarata of Warren; also her great-aunts and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Frances in death are her parents; her husband, Thomas D. Van Cure, Sr., whom she married September 18, 1953; a son, David C. Van Cure, who died in 1957; and a sister, Leona Mango.
Services for Frances will be 10:30 AM Friday, August 20, 2004 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. Rick Oaks officiating. Interment will follow at Champion Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday and 9:30 to 10:30 AM Friday.
