Frances Ann DeSalvo, 86 of Windham, died Thursday, October 14 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital, Ravenna. She was born July 27, 1924 in Frackville, PA, the daughter of Nicola and Anna (Brash) Chiarenza.
Mrs. De Salvo was a Housekeeper for Hiram College for over 30 years retiring in 1989.She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Windham and their Ladies Guild. She loved the bingo the Ohio Lottery and her beloved pets.
Surviving are her three children: Nick DeSalvo of Windham, Lucy (Jon) Jeffries of Stow, and Mary (Kevin) Wert of Windham; a daughter-in-law, Nancy DeSalvo of Newton Falls; seven grandchildren: Kelly (Greg) Bush, Brandon and Morgan DeSalvo, Anthony and Joshua (Golda) Jeffries; Kristi (Shawn) Yerian, and Megan Wert; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; a sister, Violet Sweetapple, of Smithport, PA.
Preceding her in death are her husband Tony DeSalvo whom she married June 10, 1944 and died February 15, 2010, a son, Ed DeSalvo; and a brother Augustine Chiarenza.
Services are Noon Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Windham, with Fr. James Lang officiating. Interment will follow at Windham Twp. Cemetery. Friends and family may call Monday at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren OH from 7-9 PM and 10:30 AM till time of service Tuesday at the church.
