Floyd J. Gillam

Floyd Gillam, 79, of Howland, died 12:35 PM Thursday, February 19, 2004 at home.

He was born Saturday, September 13, 1924, in Howland, the son of the late Cyrus J. and Edna Young Gillam.

Mr. Gillam was a 1942 graduate of Howland High School and worked in the tool and die department at Packard Electric, retiring in 1989. He was member of the Bolindale Christian Church, BPOE Elks #295 in Warren, and the Niles Moose Lodge.

Surviving Mr. Gillam are his wife, the former Mary Ellen Myers, whom he married April 24, 1944; three children: Jacklyn "Dale" Allen of Roswell, Georgia, James M. Gillam of Canfield, and Josie A. Fenn of Innan, South Carolina; seven grandchildren: Mindy Carpenter, Lindsay Allen, Emily Gillam, Norah Gillam, Collin Gillam, Mackenzie Pinto, and Ross Thompson; and one great-grandchild, Jocelyn Carpenter.

Services for Mr. Gillam will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 23, 2004 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. Donald P. Barnes officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Bergholz Cemetery, Bergholz, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday and 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday. Material contributions may be made to the Bolindale Christian Church Nursery, 2749 Fairview S.E., Warren, Ohio 44484.
