Florence E. Teitsworth

Florence Elizabeth Teitsworth, "Bubbles," 89, of Southington and formerly of Warren, died Sunday evening, August 24, 2008 at Windsor House of Champion. On August 1, 1919 in Van, Pennsylvania, she was born to Jesse Melat and Elizabeth (Smith) Melat. She was married to James Richard (Dick) Teitsworth on March 2, 1940.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Paxson and son-in-law, William D. Paxson of Southington; a grandson, Kyle Paxson of Tiffin; a granddaughter, Jessica Redford (Allen) of Oviedo, Florida; a great grandson, Rory Redford; and a nephew, Robert Steffee of Rouseville, Pennsylvania. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Teitsworth, a daughter, Bethane Teitsworth, a sister, Helen Steffee, and two brothers, Leonard Melat and Leon Melat.

Florence was employed as secretary of First United Church of Christ for 35 years. At the church she also served as Sunday School Superintendent, Vacation Bible School Director, and President of Heidelberg Guild. Her hobbies included sewing, bear collecting, and card playing.

Calling hours will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at First United Church of Christ in Warren. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Walter Coy officiating. Material contributions may be made to First United Church of Christ. 280 E.
