FLORA E. THOMAS

96, of Warren, Ohio and Boynton Beach, Florida passed away Saturday, June 4, 2005. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Flora Lax. She graduated from Youngstown South High School and attended Ohio University where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority.

She was married to Dr. John H. Thomas who practiced ophthalmology in Warren for 38 years. He died on April 19, 1997. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warren where she served on the Official Board and was a Circle Chairman for many years of the United Methodist Women. She also served on the Boards of S.C.O.P.E., Y.W.C.A., Mobile Meals, and the Trumbull County Medical Society.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen T. Cohn and her husband David, of Greenwood Village, Colorado and their children, Brian, Drew and James; her son, John F. Thomas and his wife Barbara, of North Palm Beach, Florida and their children, John Brenner and Molly and Michael Sealy, and her great granddaughter, Lilly Sealy.

The funeral service will be Thursday, June 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Warren. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, and also for an hour prior to the funeral on Thursday in the Heritage Room of the church. The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the First United Methodist Church, 309 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481.
