FERN B. JACKSON

Fern (Burd) Jackson, 90, of 4100 North River Rd. NE, Warren, OH 44484, died Saturday, September 6, 2003 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital-Forum Center in Warren, OH. She was born on Tuesday, March 18, 1913, in Brownsville, PA, the daughter of Paul Edgar Burd and Ella (Gregg) Burd. She was married to Dr. James Marcus Jackson, Jr. for 59 years.

Mrs. Jackson traveled the world extensively with her husband who was a military officer and veterinarian. She enjoyed gardening, walking the outdoors, gourmet cooking and charitable works; but most of all, she cherished her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Gary) Hyde of Warren, OH, sons, James Marcus Jackson III of Clinton, NC, and Frederick (Carol) Jackson of Orlando, FL, and her grandchildren, Susan Whiting, Mary Evans, Barbara Gwirtz, Nancy Lee Hyde and Jeffery Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Paul E Burd, Jr., sister, Ruthann Somers and son-in-law, LCDR Walter S. Wood.

Visitation will be at THE MCFARLAND AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM. The Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 PM with the Rev. Thomas McFerrin officiating.

Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington D.C.
