Evelyn M. Davies, 93, of Warren, died 9:55 PM Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She was born August 31, 1912 in Warren, the daughter of George and Sarah Jane (Hallett) Forrest, and had lived in the Warren area her entire life.
Evelyn was a graduate of Warren City Schools and Kent State University. She had taught in the Warren City Schools for 30 years. She was a member of Morning Star Lodge #80 for over 50 years. She also belonged to Otterbein United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association. She had also been active at the Woodland Meadows Senior Citizens Housing in Champion for many years. She enjoyed reading, needlework, knitting, and bingo.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Annette (Stuart) Banks of Cortland and Diane Davies of Niles; and two granddaughters, Denise Patterson of Cleveland, Ohio and Michele Patterson of Chicago, Ill.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, David J. Davies, whom she married July 29, 1941 and who died February 4, 1982; two brothers, George and Harry (Pete) Forrest; and her twin sister, Ethel Forrest.
Services for Evelyn will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles A. Peal of Otterbein United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service at the funeral home at 5:45 PM Monday. Material contributions may be made to either the Homebound Service of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44483, or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
