Esther M. Lego

CORTLAND - Esther M. Lego, 96, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Autumn Hills Care Center. She was born on August 24, 1917 in Weirton, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Elletro and Anna (Labon) Mantovani.

Esther was employed by W. T. Grant as a Stockroom Clerk. She was a member of the YMCA Silver Sneakers Program for many years. She also enjoyed sewing, porcelain ceramics, and traveling.

Memories of Esther will be carried on by daughter, Mary (Robert) Shreves of Lady Lake, FL; daughter, Donna Romack of Warren; daughter, Eileen (Richard) Rule of Warren; son, George E. (Sahaja) Lego, Jr. of Henderson, NV; son, Timothy (Linda Stewart) Lego of Delray Beach, FL; daughter, Margaret (Melvin) Hamrick of Phoenix, AZ; plus numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George E. Lego, Sr., whom she was married to for 48 years; son, George William Lego; daughters, Beth Anne Lego, Patricia Wilcox and Doris A. Cook; 3 grandchildren; brother, Ermy J. Mantovani; sisters, Laura Nagy, Jacqueline English, and Angela Scornavacca.

Family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. G. Thomas Badanjek officiating. Services of final committal will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
