Ella Jane Merrel

Ella Jane Merrel of Warren passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in her residence. She was 63 years old.

Ella was born on April 8, 1957 in Warren, the daughter of the late William and Ruth Walters Clark.

Mrs. Merrel was employed as an in-home nurse and aid, caring for many patients over the years. Most recently for the past 3 years, she spent her time working at flea markets. Earlier in life, Ella volunteered at the Mecca Fire Department.

Ella was of Baptist faith. She loved listening to county music and watching old westerns. She had a deep love of animals especially dogs and birds. She bread and raised cockatiels for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed arts and crafts through her church, watching fireworks, or spending time at her favorite fishing hole. At a younger age, it was nothing for Ella to hop in a car and travel cross country on her own. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her 4 daughters, Lisa (Michael Coe) Llewellyn of Girard, Heather (Brandon) Garlock of Warren, Michelle (Mack) Peyatt of Warren, and Tammy Williams of Warren; a son, John Moore Sr. of Warren; 2 brothers, Chester (Linda) Clark of Mecca and William Clark of Warren; 20 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her first husband Delbert Moore who passed on February 7, 2009; her second husband Leslie Joe “Pee Wee” Merrel who passed on July 12, 2015; and a son.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

A funeral service will take place on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Burial will take place at Meadow Brook Memorial Park.
