Eileen L. Behrens

Eileen L. Behrens, 85, of Warren, died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Hospice House in Poland. She was born November 30, 1921 in Champion, the daughter of Ernest O. and Beatrice (Turner) Mills, and had lived in the Warren area her entire life.

Mrs. Behrens was a June, 1939 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and a December, 1961 graduate of All-Star Beauty School. She retired in 1982 from Madelein's Beauty Shop, and had been self-employed since then as a cosmetologist. She was a member of Central Christian Church and had sung in the choir. She had also belonged to the Fedette Girls Band, and to the Women's Auxiliaries of VFW Post 1090 and American Legion Post 278 (Clarence Hyde), of which she had been a 30-year member and was recently vice-president.

Surviving are her husband, George H. Behrens, whom she married December 20, 1941; a daughter, Bonnie J. (Lewis) Tandy of Akron, N.Y.; a son, Tom A. (Vicky) Behrens of Warren; four grandchildren: Lauren M. and Aaron D. Tandy, and George A. and Anthony L. Behrens; a great-granddaughter, Haylee Behrens; and a brother, Robert L. (Gerri) Mills of Gahanna, Ohio. Her parents precede her in death.

Services are 11:00 AM Thursday, March 29, 2007 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Caroline Bloomfield of Central Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park.
