Effie T. Hoffman

Effie T. Hoffman, 72, of Southington, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 from lung cancer at Imperial Skilled Care Facility. She was born February 21, 1934 in Warren, the daughter of Robert B. and Maryetta (Campbell) Young.

She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband, Peter, of fifty one years. Mrs. Hoffman is also survived by her children: Bruce (Pam) Hoffman of Champion, Jeffery (Donna) Hoffman of Leavittsburg and Dawn (Donald) Maurer also of Leavittsburg; her grandchildren: Michael and Amanda Hoffman, Jennifer Fleming, Theresa Hoffman, Peter and Blake Maurer; and her great-grandchildren: Leanna, Nathan, Kaitlynn, Kiera, and Trenton. Preceding her in death are her parents; six sisters: Mary Ruth Byers, Leah Loney, Annabelle Mountain, Betty Hudson, Edna Mae Sheldon, and Jean Stryker; and a brother, Robert Young.

Lovingly known as "Teddy," her heart was filled with joy when surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needle work and was an avid bowler. "Teddy's" true love was being a coach for youth bowling. She was a member of The Pythian Sisters Lodge # 185 Liberty Temple, West Farmington, Ohio.

Services are 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 30, 2006 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Rev. Tadd Butler of Southington United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be Tuesday at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday and 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
