Edward "Shorty" Ball, Sr.

WARREN - Edward "Shorty" G. Ball, Sr., age 38, passed away suddenly on October 28, 2013. He was born on October 15, 1975 in Warren, and was the beloved son of Cecilia A. (Perpich) Ball and step-father, William R. Lambert.

Ed attended Warren City Schools, and was self employed as a finishing carpenter. Shorty enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a team member of the Steel Valley Dart Association, and was an avid Browns fan. He loved spending time with his wife, DeeDee, his children, his relatives, and his many friends. Ed was the life of the party and could always be found entertaining the children at family gatherings. Shorty will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memories of him will be carried on by his mother, Cecilia Ball of Virginia; step-father, William Lambert of Virginia; his loving wife, Gloria "DeeDee" (Merten) Ball; his sons, Edward Ball, Jr., Jonathan Ball and Travis Ball; his daughters, Sabrina Ball and Alisha Ball, all of Warren; sister, Joanna Lilly of Virginia, many nieces and nephews; plus several great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his brother, Jonathan Ball.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 1:00 PM, at McFarland & Son Funeral Home in Warren. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service with the Rev. Sally Manes of the House of Praise Church in Newton Falls officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
