Edna B. Smith

NILES - Edna B. Smith, 103, passed peacefully away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Shepherd of the Valley, Niles. She was born on September 13, 1911 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late John and Grace (Ellison) Benedicktus.

Edna was a high school graduate. She retired from Packard Electric as a factory worker after 37 years. She attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Edna enjoyed ceramics, reading, was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, shopping, and dining out. She loved her black poodles and had several over the years.

Memories of Edna will be carried on by nephew, Raymond L. (Betty Jo) Smith, Jr. of Warren; niece, Wanda (Donald, Sr.) Griffin of Warren; and niece, Geri George of Salem.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Russell C. Smith, whom she was married to for 35 years; brothers, Raymond Benedicktus, and John Benedicktus.

Family will receive friends 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, Warren. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon. Private burial services will be held at Pineview Memorial Park at a later date.

Her family suggests contributions be made in the form of donations to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 140 Cherry Ave NW, Warren, OH 44485.
