Earl Benjamin "Ben" Wood, 87, of Southington, died 5:40 AM Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Windsor House of Champion. He was born April 23, 1919 in Warren, the son of Benjamin Stephen and Katherine Scharnhorst Wood, and had lived in the Warren area his entire life.

Ben was a loving, godly man and attended First Assembly of God in Warren. He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as an inspector for RMI Titanium, retiring in 1982. He and his wife Anna shared a great love for horses and horseback riding.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Anna M. (Mullee) Wood, whom he married July 19, 1946; three children: Patricia Ann (Jim) Gore of Newton Falls, Susan M. (Tom) Hope of Southington, and Ronald W. (Linda) Wood of Cookville, Tenn.; three grandchildren: Edward E. (Cydney) and Stacy R. Gintert, and Kevin C. (Heather) Quinby; two great-grandchildren: Brandon Warnock and Charles J. Quinby; and two sisters: Margaret W. Connell of Middleburg Heights, Ohio and Catherine E. Wood of Warren. Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother, Henry S. Wood.

Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, May 26, 2006 at First Assembly of God, 2640 Parkman Rd. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44485, with Rev. L. Albanese officiating. Interment will follow at Braceville Township Cemetery. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, and 1:00 to 2:00 PM Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
