Douglas P. Southwick

Douglas P. Southwick, 89, of Southington, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at Community Skilled Health Centre in Warren. He was born December 28, 1920 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Albert and Louise (Weissicker) Southwick, and had lived in Trumbull County since 1984.

A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Southwick had worked as supervisor of stations for the New York City Transit Authority.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen C. (Blair) Southwick, whom he married June 3, 1972; three children: Carol Southwick of Brooklyn, Barbara Dalbeck of New York City, and Robert Southwick of Staten Island, N.Y.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Madeline Mills of Idaho. Preceding him in death are his parents and four brothers: Albert, Edward, Harold, and Raymond Southwick.

According to his wishes, cremation is taking place. Services are private. His urn will be laid to rest at a later date in Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.
