Dorothy "Dot" Walsh of Niles, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 in Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was 61.
She was born on May 29, 1954 in Ridgefield Park, NJ, the daughter of Francis and Marion Walsh.
Ms. Walsh was a 1972 graduate of Bergen County Vocational School. In 1995, Dot obtained her
Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Texas Woman's University.
After college, Ms. Walsh moved to Ohio and became a licensed social worker here in the state. She worked various jobs throughout her life, mainly dealing with drug and alcohol counseling.
Dot was a free spirit, she loved to be around others and enjoyed experiencing new things as she traveled. She instilled these qualities in her children. Dot had perseverance and tried to overcome obstacles that life threw at her.
She is survived by a daughter Stacey Anne Powers of Lewisville, TX; a son, Larry V. Henderson and his wife Chelsea of Fort Worth, TX; 4 grandchildren, Rick Wolcott, Alyssa Matteson, Cameron Henderson, and Landon Henderson. Dot is also survived by her special companion of many years, Ronn Knepper of Niles.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy his preceded in death by a sister Mary Walsh.
