WARREN - Dorothy Evalyn Samuelson Stover, 74, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 16, 1940 in Jamestown, New York, the daughter of the late Wesley Samuelson and Evalyn (Gunton) Samuelson Trask.

Dorothy was a 1958 graduate of Champion High School and 1962 graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She retired from Warren City Schools in 2000 after 30 years of service. Dorothy was a kindergarten teacher in Roosevelt, Emerson & Secrest Elementary, having spent 22 of her years at Secrest. Dorothy touched the lives of many young children. She followed their accomplishments as they grew, even attending their open houses and weddings. Dorothy was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

Memories of Dorothy will be carried on by husband, Stanley "Skip" A. Stover of Warren; daughter, Beth Ann Wanosik of Charleston, SC; son, Scot Stover of Lordstown; grandson, Clay Michael Wanosik of New Philadelphia, OH; granddaughter, Natalie Marie Wanosik of New Philadelphia, OH ; brother, Roger (Maureen) Samuelson of Champion; sister, Lucille (Robert) Vesey of Champion; step-brothers, Ronald (Linda) Trask of Warren, and Gerald (JoAnn) Trask of FL; plus many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Owen Trask; step-sister, Roberta Trask Groves; and step-brother, Eugene Trask.

Family will receive friends Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home,Warren and one hour prior to the service. Service will be held at McFarland & Son Funeral Home on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Rick Oaks of First United Methodist Church officiating. Services of final committal will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
