Dorothy C. Sherman

Dorothy C. Sherman, 92, formerly of Warren, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C. She was born May 18, 1915 in Lockport, N.Y., the daughter of Charles and Theo (Compten) Carroll.

A graduate of Leavittsburg High School, Mrs. Sherman worked with her husband Herb at Sherman Realty, Risher Dairy, and Cisco's Restaurant for many years. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church on Warren.

Surviving are her son, Cal (Carol) Sherman of Greenville, N.C.; her daughter, Patricia (Ed) Muscat of Healdsburg, Calif.; two grandchildren, Susan Sherman and Christopher (Kris) Muscat; and a great-grandson, Nathan Sherman. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Herbert R. Sherman, whom she married December 20, 1941 and who died February 23, 1998; a sister, Margaret Reniff; and a brother, William Carroll.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with her son, Rev. Dr. H. Cal Sherman, officiating. Entombment in the mausoleum at Pineview Memorial Park will follow. Material contributions may be made to St. Paul's Church, 3251 E. 10th St., Greenville, N.C. 27858.
