Dorothy A. Bauman

OVIEDO, FL. - Dorothy A. Anderson Strock Bauman, 95, formerly of Warren, OH, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at her residence, where she has lived with her daughter, Sharon, since May, 2014. She was born on April 26, 1920 in Warren, the daughter of the late Curtis and Ruby Hines Anderson.

Dorothy graduated from Leavittsburg High School in 1938, where she ran track and was homecoming queen. She married David K. Strock in 1939 and worked until her retirement at Miller and Son Florist in Warren. She attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Warren, serving as Sunday school secretary, teacher, choir member, and elder. She was a member of Altrusa Club and Warren Civic Chorus. She enjoyed flower arranging, music, reading, swimming, dancing, entertaining, laughing, cookouts, and was an accomplished seamstress. In 1982, she married her longtime friend, Edward E. Bauman, MD, and they lived in Sun City, Arizona for six years before moving to Hobe Sound, Florida. She became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palm City, Florida, where she was active in the choir, Altar Guild, and Thursday Craft Group. Dorothy will be remembered for her welcoming smile, easy laughter, and kindness to others.

Memories of Dorothy will be carried on by daughters, Sandra Kay (Phil) Giuliano of Niles, OH, daughter, Sharon Elaine (John) Harrell of Oviedo, FL; five grandchildren, Joanna Alton (Norm) Scarazzo of Canfield, OH, Betsy Alton (Jeff) Craig of John's Creek, GA, David (Ashli) Thirion of North Fort Myers, FL, Sandra Harrell Hawk of Oviedo, FL, and Scott Harrell of Oviedo, FL; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Arthur A. Anderson of Warren, OH. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, David K. Strock; and second husband, Edward E. Bauman, MD.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
