Doris E. Hyde, 97, of Bristolville, OH, died 8;40am on August 2, 2012 after a long and beautiful life. She was born March 31, 1915 in West Mecca Twp., OH, the daughter of John and Estella (Setzler) Steinhauser .

She was a 1933 graduate of West Mecca High School and worked at Ohio Lamp in the early 1930's.

Doris and William A. Hyde were married on April 16,1938. On August 26, 1941 they were blessed with the birth of a son, Dr. Gary A. Hyde who had a long and successful Optometric practice in Howland. A homemaker Doris enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are daughter-in-law; Nancy Hyde, 4 granddaughters Susan Whiting, Mary (Michael) Evans, Barbara Gwirtz, and, Nancy Lee (Bret) Gdovin; 11 great-grandchildren, Bobby (Shelly), Brandon (Niki), Adelynn, Molly and Sutton Whiting, Matthew, Michael, Patrick Evans, Nickolas, Daniel Gwirtz and Madison Gdovin,, and great-great grandson; Maclin Whiting.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Hyde, and a son, Dr. Gary A. Hyde who died September 9, 2011. Also preceding her in death were 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

She will be deeply missed by all she touched. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
