Donna J. Unger

WARREN - Ms. Donna J. Unger, of Warren, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 10, 2015 at the age of 83. Donna was born to parents, Claude and Belle Beachler (formerly Belle Miller) on March 6, 1932 at home on S. Main Street in Windham, Ohio. She grew up with older brother, Buddy and surviving sister, Thelma.

After graduating from Windham High School, Donna attended Trumbull Hospital School of Nursing, graduated in 1953 and spent the next 45 years caring for others at hospitals in both Warren, and Ravenna. Caring for others did not stop upon Donna's retirement from the nursing profession. Donna had a particular love for animals. There was not a stray cat or dog that came across her path she would not take in and nurture to good health. She often said she would do without her own comforts and necessities to see that her children and grandchildren had everything they needed. Donna did indeed live a humble life in sacrifice to her loved ones. Even though Donna was not particularly religious, she surely is now in the comfort of her maker and is at this very moment cradling in her arms her pets, who proceeded her.

Donna is survived by her sons, Mike (Carolyn) Tackett and James Unger; her daughter, Linda (David) Spies; her grandchildren, Michael (Teara) Hall, Zachary (Chelsea) Hall, Ian Tackett, Sean Unger, Joshua Unger, her beloved Cady Unger, and Max Spies; and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Buddy.

Donna particularly enjoyed her solitude and would not have felt comfortable in a crowded room. As such, the family has decided not to hold a public viewing. The family is grateful for condolences Donna's friends and loved ones might have wished to express.
