Donald Klippel

Donald E. Klippel, 87, of Warren, OH, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital-Forum Health in Warren, OH

He was born on Thursday, October 7, 1915, in Warren, OH the son of Howard Klippel (Deceased) and Christine (Shoenberger) Klippel (Deceased)

Donald was a 1935 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Warren Business College. He married Noreen V. Smith on June 5, 1940. He served his country in WWII with the US Army acheiving the rank of Sgt. Mr. Klippel received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, EAME Service Medal with four bronze stars and the Victory Medal. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Warren and worked for Packard Electric Div. of GM and retired from YBM corp. as a salesman in 1980.

He played in bands in the area and was an accomplished musician playing piano and organ. Donald enjoyed golf, horseback riding, reading and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Noreen (Smith) Klippel of Warren, OH, one son; Dr. John (Sally) Klippel, Medical Director of The Arthritis Foundation, Chevy Chase, MD, one daughter; Jill (Randy) Wingfield, Four Grandchildren; Jason Klippel of Washington DC, Jessa Klippel of Cincinnati, OH, Matthew Hart of Charlottesville, VA, and Jonathan Hart of Waynesboro, VA

Visitation will be at McFARLAND & SON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, July 18, 2003 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Services will also be held at McFARLAND & SON FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 1:00 PM The Rev. Martin B. Hardy will officiate, burial will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park, in Vienna, OH
