Donald E. Imes

Donald Eugene Imes, 70, of Cortland, died 6:05 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Horizon Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warren. He was born Friday, September 22, 1933, in Riley, West Virginia, the son of William and Katherine Lawson Imes.

Mr. Imes had lived in the area for two years, coming from Logan County, West Virginia. He had served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and had retired from the McCord's Corporation in Michigan as a tow motor operator. He had been a member of the Becco Baptist Church in Logan County.

Surviving Mr. Imes are his mother of West Virginia; four sisters: Dorothy Sinin of Virginia, Bonnie Moore of Cortland, Barbara Lambert and Ruth Imes of West Virginia; and three brothers: Charles and William Imes, both of Cleveland, Ohio, and Frank Imes of West Virginia.

Preceding Mr. Imes in death are his father, two sisters, and a brother.

Services for Mr. Imes will be 12:30 PM Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland, with Rev. Frank Imes officiating. A military service led by American Legion Post 540 will follow. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
