Dennis Spencer Sr.

Dennis Spencer Sr. of Youngstown passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 3:53 p.m. in Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. He was 60 years old.

Dennis was born in Youngstown on January 15, 1961, the son of the late George L. and Margaret H. Miller Spencer.

He was a 1979 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. Dennis was employed for Indalex Aluminum Solutions in Youngstown for 22 years.  He retired from the Maintenance Department at Trumbull Metal Specialties.

Mr. Spencer was of Catholic Faith. He loved cheering on Notre Dame Football and watching his favorite television show MASH. Dennis loved working on old cars and race cars especially his baby, a 72 Dodge Demon, he had no use for the new cars of today. Most importantly he loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Shaffer Spencer whom he married March 2, 1999; a son, Dennis Spencer Jr.; 3 stepchildren, Jaylyn Holmes, Shane Holmes, and Brandice Shaffer; 5 brothers, Jim, Kenny, George, Billy, and Terry Spencer; 4 grandchildren, Austin, Dominic, Alyssa, and Khloe; 2 great grandchildren, Braxton, and Blake. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
