Dennis Roy Baker, 23 of Champion Twp, OH, died Friday morning, February 8, 2013 in an automobile accident on Rt. 5 in Newton Falls. He was born on October 4, 1989 in Warren, and was the son of Dennis Lee and Teresa Martin Baker.

He worked for General Motors-Lordstown, and was a 2008 graduate of Champion High School where he lettered in football, track, and was a member of Key Club as a peer tutor. He also attended Kent State University.

He loved hunting, camping, swimming, cooking, basketball, volleyball, football and, getting together with friends and playing video games. He also enjoyed music, professional and college sports especially the Cleveland Cavs and Ohio State Buckeye football.

Dennis was a people person, had a friendly warm and inviting ready smile for everyone, and often hosted backyard get togethers inviting family and friends. His caring personality was exemplified by being an organ donor, and he also volunteered for church dinners.

Dennis's memory will be carried on by his parents; Dennis Lee and Teresa Baker, a sister; Kaylee Baker, grandparents; Robert and Carrie Baker and Roy and Shirley Martin all of Champion Twp., 4 uncles, 4 aunts, 8 cousins, as well as, great aunts and uncles, and, many close friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents; Fred and Louise Rottman, Alma Shick, Irma and Arnold Martin, and, Maggie and Emmer Workman.

Calling hours are Tuesday, February 12th, from 4:30 pm till 7:30 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Ave., in Warren. Services will be held on Wednesday, Feburary 13th, at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 309 North Park Ave, in Warren, with calling hours one hour prior to the service in the Van Wye Room. Rev. Rick Oaks will be officiating the service for Dennis. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Champion Twp. Cemetery.
