Delbert L. Brown, 71, of Champion, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born April 9, 1940 in Gad, W. Va., the son of James E. and Ottie (Bailes) Brown, Sr., and had lived in Trumbull County most of his life.
Known to many as "Charlie Brown", Mr. Brown was a 1958 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, retired from Copperweld Steel, and also worked for Handyman Ace Hardware on Elm Rd. He belonged to Moose Lodge #186 in Warren and the union at Copperweld. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, gardening, sports, and liked to be with people.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline (McBee) Brown, whom he married May 2, 1960; four children: Barbara Aston of New York, Tina of Cleveland, Jaye P. of Willoughby, and Douglas Brown of Cortland; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven sisters: Doris Metzenroth of Champion; Betty Jo Biddle of Warren, Loretta Skaggs of Champion, Ina (Russ) Howard of Warren; Wanda Watson of Florida; Georgia (Bob) Mounts of Champion; and Norma Jean Williams of Warren; two brothers: Wilbur (Nicole) Brown of Howland and James (Sue) Brown, Jr. of Bristolville; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother, Warren Brown.
According to his wishes, services are private, and cremation is taking place. The family requests no flowers. In his memory, material contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Rd. S.W., Warren, Ohio 44481.
