Dean W. Blaine

Champion Twp, Ohio - Dean W. Blaine Sr., 79, passed away on Good Friday, March 29, 2013 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 25, 1933 in Steubenville, OH, and was the son of the late William and Thelma (Dickson) Blaine.

Dean was employed by Copperweld Steel Corp. as a Crane operator for over 30 years. Dean was the owner of Champion Insulation and formerly worked for Packard Electric and Thomas Steel. He was a member of Champion Christian Church and the VFW #7200. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, four wheeling, and snowmobiling.

He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

He was a loving father to 4 surviving children, sons; Dean Blaine Jr. of Champion Twp., David Blaine of Southington, daughters; Denise Blaine of Southington, April (Glen) Brooks of Mineral Ridge, a brother; Jimmy (Judy) Blaine of Pompano Beach, FL, and twin sister; Jean Smith of Warren. Also grandchildren; Deanna and Melissa Blaine, Glenda and Forrest Brooks, Neil Shockey, and Sara (Frank) Stropkey, and great-grandchildren; Skylar Jay Blaine, Madison Marie Blaine, and Forrest Alan Brooks, II.

He was preceded in death by wife, Wilma Blaine, whom he married October 24, 1955 and who passed away on January 23, 1998, and sisters; Betty Reynolds, and Vivian Shay.

Services will be held at the Champion Township Cemetery on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 11:00 am in the Chapel with Rev. George Whitt of the Bristol Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Internment will follow the service where full military honors will be presented.
