Darren D. Courtney, 47, of Warren, died suddenly at home on Saturday, October 6, 2012. He was born January 12, 1965 in Youngtown, the son of Joseph Henry and Dolly Elizabeth (Shacklock) Courtney, and had lived in Trumbull County all his life.

Darren had worked as a manager for Dinesol Plastics and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, boating, camping, and hiking.

Surviving are his fiancAC.e, Anna M. Lewis, with whom he made his home; two sons, Jonathan Courtney of Girard and Mark Courtney of Niles; three stepdaughters: Samantha Ryhal of Boardman, Christine Ryhal of East Rochester, OH and Victoria Ryhal of Hanoverton; sisters: Robin Stears and Jennifer Brazil, both of Girard; brother, Earl Courtney of Alliance; sister, Jennifer Marshall of Austintown; brothers: Warren and Vernon Courtney, both of Coshocton, and Curtis Courtney of Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents; a sister, Juanita Matthews; and a brother, Joseph Courtney.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Robin Stears, Darren's sister, conducting the service. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
