Daniel D. Ruckman

Daniel D. Ruckman, 57, of Lakewood and formerly of Warren, died Sunday, December 24, 2006 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born November 17, 1949 in Warren, the son of Harold Ruckman and Ruth (Bumgardner) Ruckman Grisham.

Mr. Ruckman was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and Trumbull Business College. He spent over 35 years in the trucking industry and worked as terminal manager for B&T Express. He attended St. Luke's Catholic Church in Lakewood. He enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles, reading, the Browns, and the Indians.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah (McCready) Ruckman, whom he married August 10, 1985; a daughter, Tracy (Jeff) DeMonte of Slickville, Pa.; two sons: John Ruckman of Arnold, Pa., and Kevin (Amanda) Ruckman of Brookfield; two stepsons: Dennis (Pamela) Owen of Cleveland, and Timothy (Brooke) Owen of Cuyahoga Falls; five grandchildren: Dana and Dillon DeMonte, Alexis Smail, Dylan Ruckman, and Dennis A. "D.J." Owen, Jr.; two sisters: Karen "Sue" (David) Downs of Independence, Mo., and Cheryl L. Morgan of Warren; and a brother, Samuel A. (Linda) Ruckman of Niles. Preceding him in death are his parents; a sister, Marianne R. Armstrong; and two brothers, Joseph E. and Jeffrey L. Ruckman.

Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 29, 2006 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Mr. Ruckman's brother-in-law, Elder David Downs of the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration, will officiate. Interment will follow at Pine Knoll Cemetery. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday and 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
