Daniel Edward Myers 86, resident of Copeland Oaks in Sebring, OH passed away at 7:55PM on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Crandell Medical Center. He was born on January 10, 1926 and was the son of Earl and Eva (Strom) Myers.

Mr. Myers was a longtime resident of Champion Township. He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in January 1944, and was a June 1946 graduate of Harvard University with a degree in Navigation Engineering. Upon graduation he was commissioned as an Ensign, Officer Of The Deck Underway, First Deck Division on the USS Lejeune AP 74 in the United States Navy and served in the Pacific until 1947. He continued his naval career with the United States Naval Reserves, where he attained the rank of LTJG before his discharge on December 4, 1961.

Daniel became a journeyman tool and die maker and was employed by the Packard Electric Division of General Motors as the Toolroom Supervisor for 43 years, retiring August 1, 1987. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warren where he actively served on every board, attended and taught Sunday school, and was a member of the church choir.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed family vacations at his cottage in Buckhorn, Ontario, Canada.

Survivors include his seven children; Daniel G. (Monika) Myers of Hilton Head, SC; Barbara A. Johnston of Albany, NY; Marjorie E. (Gerry) Inskeep of Fredericksburg, VA; Marilyn J. (Ed) Dunphy of Locust Grove, VA; Robert E. Myers of Westerville, OH; Audrey M. Martin of North Benton, OH; and Randall R.(Faith) Myers of Mantua, OH. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren; Stefanie, Danny, Jessica, Sarah, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Kelly, Megan, Brian, Stacy, Sally, Jeffrey, Audra and Brandon; 2 great-grandchildren, Natalie and Allison; and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marjorie (Libertyn) Myers, whom he married May 22,1948 and had 52 wonderful years together, also a brother, Richard E. Myers, and his parents.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren, OH at 4:00 PM where friends may call one hour prior to the service. A second celebration will be held Monday, 6:00 PM, November 5, at Bennett Chapel of Copeland Oaks Retirement Community, Sebring, OH. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the Williamsburg Lounge. Inurnment will take place in Champion Township Cemetery.
