Cyril F. Mullee, age 87, of Warren, Ohio, died Thursday, October 21, 2004, at Horizon Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warren. Cyril Mullee was born September 10, 1917 to the late William and Pearl Beckley Mullee in Canton. Cyril was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a self employed entrepreneur in his family's business, first working and then running the business with his sisters and brother that his father started, now run by his children: Mullee's, Inc.
Cyril was a former member of the Trumbull Country Club and also belonged to the Elks #295 and the Elks Lodge in Naples, FL. He was also a member of the Buckeye Club, Knights of Columbus, Denro Club and Windstar Country Club in Naples, FL. Cyril enjoyed golfing and was an avid reader and an amateur photographer who worked for the Vindicator in his younger years. He also wintered in Naples, FL for many years with his wife, Virginia Mae (Garrity) VanWye Mullee, whom he married on December 10, 1983.
Besides his wife, he leaves three children and three step-children: William (Gwenn) Mullee of Cortland, OH, Thomas (Marion) Mullee of Warren, OH, Maureen Mullee of Warren, OH, Rodger (Alice) VanWye of Florida, Barry (Sue) VanWye of Florida, and Melinda VanWye of Florida; four grandchildren: Erica Travis of Columbus, OH, Ryan Mullee of Tyler, TX, Drew Mullee of Cortland, OH and Heather VanWye of Leetonia, OH; seven step great-grandchildren: Dustin, Kaitlyn, Audrey, Rachel, Jonathan, Corey, and Kyle VanWye, all of Florida; and three sisters: Dorothy Jones of Warren, OH, Ann Woods of Southington, OH, and Helen Deehr of Warren, OH.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine M. "Kitty" (Grainger) Mullee who passed away July 26, 1982, and a brother, Paul Mullee.
Arrangements are being handled by MCFARLAND AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 271 NORTH PARK AVENUE, WARREN, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, October 24, 2004. A Funeral service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Monday, October 25, 2004, at 10:30 AM, with Fr. Donald E. King officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Warren.
