Costi Mandrean, 91, of Warren, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Gillette's Nursing Home. He was born October 8, 1921 in Warren, OH. and was the son of Costi and Mary (Long) Mandrean, Sr.
Costi retired as a Material Handling Foreman for Republic Steel Corporation. He was a 1939 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School then attended Youngstown State University. He attended and ushered at 1st United Methodist Church of Warren.
For many years Costi and his wife Dorothy volunteered for Mobile Meals and Hospice of Trumbull County. He was a veteran of WWII and, was a sergeant in the Army where he earned 5 bronze stars. He was a member of Carroll F. Clapp Lodge #655 F&AM and Shrine member of Al Koran of Cleveland.
Surviving are sisters; Helen Carlson, Mary (Paul) McDonald, and Elizabeth Rose all of CA., bother- in-laws; Jack (Elieen) Criddle of Champion, and James (Janice) Criddle of Edenton, NC., and sister-in-law; Sara Cross of Chattanooga, TN.
Costi was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Criddle) Mandrean, whom he married May 24, 1959 and had passed on October 25, 2009.
Services will be held at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 11:00am with Rev.Yesudas Devadan of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with inurnment to follow at Crown Hill Burial Park.
