Corinne Diana DeMars, 84, of Hilton Head, SC and formerly of Warren, OH, died at 6:40 a.m., February 26 2009.

She was born September 17, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Cora and Gunnar Lundane. Growing up in New York City, she graduated from the school of Music and Art, and sang with The Parada Wonder Singers, performing at Radio City and Carnegie Hall.

She then moved to Warren, OH, which became her home for most of her life. She worked for Falls Printing Company as a secretary for 26 years, and for the Warren Telephone Company, Griswold's and Cox Lithograph.

She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday school, served as a deaconess, and was Mother of the Year. She did volunteer work for Hillside Hospital.

In 1974 she married Owen DeMars and was blessed with five stepchildren and five grandchildren. Owen preceded her in death February, 1991. Also preceding her in death were her sister Mary Jane Devito, a brother Charles Diana, a son-in-law Larry Marshall, and first husband Leonard Smith, Sr., the father of her two children. In July, 1999 she moved to SC to be close to her daughter.

She is survived by a devoted daughter, Louise Marshall of Bluffton, SC; a son, Leonard Smith Jr. of Providence, RI; two grand children: Shelly Marshall of FL and Aaron Marshall of SC; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Marshall-Allen of NC.

She was loved much and will be missed greatly.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. David Black of Calvary Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment at Pineview Memorial Park will follow. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
