Coralyn Lynn age 89, of Ashtabula, Ohio and Sarasota, Florida passed away. She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Robert Davis Lynn; loving daughters Judy Lynn Anderson of Warren, OH, Cynthia Lynn of Talmage, OH; Jennifer Lynn of Paris, KY; two granddaughters: Shannon McGuire Zoey Berg of Fort Myers, FL.; and Megan McGuire of Winter Park, FL. Two great grandsons: Logan and Carter Berg of Fort Myers, FL. A brother Perry Burgess Jr. (A.K.A John H. Gale) of Malabar, FL. Her mother Cora Louise Turney Burgess and step-father Perry Burgess preceded her in death.
Coralyn was born in Cleveland, OH., and grew up at Geneva on the Lake. She attended Hathaway Brown School in Cleveland and graduated from The Knox School Cooperstown, NY and Southern Seminary in Buena Vista, VA.
After her marriage in 1950, she and her husband lived in Springfield, OH. and Youngstown, OH., before moving to Warren, OH. Where they lived for 38 years before building their dream home on the shore of Lake Erie in Ashtabula.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warren, the Youngstown Jr. League, past President Trumbull Memorial Hospital’s “Play Ladies” and Warren’s Auxiliary for 25 years.
Coralyn was very active with the Warren YWCA where she was a board member and served on the YWCA staff as the Health Education Director and appointed to the Executive Director in 1975.
Mrs. Lynn was a member of Trumbull Country Club and the Racquet and Tennis Club in Sarasota, Women’s Fortnightly Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Founders and Patriots of New York State, Trowel and Hoe Garden Club, and a swim instructor for the American Red Cross.
She was an avid tennis player all of her life, loved to swim, garden (she called it “digging in the dirt”), golf, play bridge, swim, cook, read, and travel. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family, celebrating holidays and any gatherings in-between.
For twenty years, she and her husband would travel out west in their motor home for fishing trips, and big game hunts in Wyoming and Colorado. They enjoyed vacations that centered around nature and the environment. She and Bob have traveled the United States and foreign countries with their special friends.
Friends were special to Carolyn. Her friends considered her a beautiful person inside and out. She would light up a room with her friendly personality. She was always willing to help others in any way. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
Celebrations of Life will be in Florida and Ohio.
