Clyde C. Waddell, Sr., 94, of Warren, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born April 8, 1917 in Coalport, Pa., the son of George P. and Ethel M. (Kachelries) Waddell.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Waddell retired in 1980 as a roller die designer for Youngstown Republic Manufacturing Co. after 23 years of employment. He was a member of Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, Old Erie Lodge #3, F. & A.M., Al Koran, White Shrine, and was past president of the Lordstown Senior Citizens Group. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and fishing.
Surviving are a son, Clyde C. (Beryl) Waddell, Jr. of Lubbock, Tex.; three granddaughters: Kimberly Waddell of Northampton, Mass., Bethany (Mike) Beeghly of Frisco, Tex., and Jennifer (Lee Bob) Harper of Gruver, Tex.; three great-grandchildren: Leo, Max, and Natalie Harper; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Love-Waddell of Lakeland, Fla. Preceding him in death is his wife, Nellie M. Waddell, whom he married December 14, 1937 and who died December 20, 2005; a son, Paul G. Waddell; a sister, Vida Waddell Black; and a brother, Jesse Waddell.
Services are 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Vincent officiating. Private interment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at the funeral home. Masonic services, led by Old Erie Lodge #3, F. & A.M., will be conducted at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at the funeral home.
