Charlotte M. Lowry, 89, of Warren, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at home. She was born November 9, 1920 in Warren, the daughter of Henry and Frances (Lehman) Moon, and had lived in Warren all her life.
Mrs. Lowry was a 1938 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Warren Business College. During World War II, when her husband was in the Air Force, she worked as a clerk for the Air Force while he was stationed in Miami Beach, Fla. Later, she worked in Warren as a clerk for General Electric and Republic Steel.
A member of First United Methodist Church, she enjoyed her church circle, word-find puzzles, big band music, dancing, reading, and playing bridge.
Surviving are her children: Pamela Lowry-Wade, Coleen Latta, James Lowry, and Kenneth Lowry; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Moon Atkinson Dickerson. Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband, Harold O. Lowry, whom she married September 20, 1940 and who died February 23, 1991.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Oaks officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Rd. S.W., Warren, Ohio 44481.
