Charles "Jack" Williams, 72, of Warren, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born November 27, 1937 in East Rainelle, W. Va., the son of Ottie and Orpha (Farley) Williams, and had lived in Trumbull County for fifteen years, coming from Washington, D.C.
Mr. Williams had worked in restaurants as a short-order cook, maitre d', and manager. He enjoyed classical music, antique cars, old English movies, playing the piano, and was an accomplished painter. Most of all, he enjoyed his time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are two children: Charles A. (Judy) Williams and Celia L. Banish, both of Warren; five grandchildren: Kristina (Robert) Rhine, Jessica Williams, Kurtis and Desa Banish, and Jacob Sweasy; a great-granddaughter, Kari Armstrong; a brother, Robert (Caren) Williams of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and his former wife, Barbara L. Williams of Warren. Preceding him in death are his parents and several brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be conducted 12:00 noon Friday, September 17, 2010 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Oaks of First Untied Methodist Church of Warren officiating. Following the service, his urn will be laid to rest at Kerr Cemetery in Weathersfield. Friends may call 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Friday at the funeral home.
